Design of welded WQ beam (HSQ) for beanding moment, shear and axial force based on Eurocode 3

WQ beam (HSQ) is a welded box steel beam that´s often used in precast concrete structures to speed up the construction of multi-storey buildings.

WQ beams are designed as simple-span, cantilever and continuous beams to fit the floor height, while carrying all structural loads in accordance with european standards.

WQ beams can be used either with hollow-core slabs or shell slabs.

The website provides to structural engineers (professionals and students) in the construction sector free-online web app for design of welded WQ beam (HSQ) for beanding moment, shear and axial force based on eurocode 3 (swedish standards) to check and optimize the beam section. It has been tested and verified by experienced civil engineers that the calculation result is accurate. However, despite considerable effort we cannot exclude the possibility that an error exists. The results should therefore always be verified by a qualified engineer.
